RDS (Technical) Ltd's ("RDS") principal business is to provide generators and other equipment by way of hire, sale and service to the oil and gas industry in the Caspian Sea region and Central Asia. RDS was formed following the break up of the former Soviet Union and the establishment of the independent state of Azerbaijan.

Prior to acquisition by Northbridge in 2007, it had been the agent for Crestchic in the area since 2001.
